REGIONAL STUDENTS NEED MORE ASSISTANCE

 The Nationals Senator for New South Wales John Williams says recommendations from a Senate committee inquiry should be adopted by the Federal Government to give equality for regional students.

The Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Committee chaired by The Nationals Senator Fiona Nash has handed down eight recommendations stemming from its inquiry into Rural and Regional Access to Secondary and Tertiary Education Opportunities.

APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR DENTISTRY SCHOLARSHIP

The inaugural New South Wales Regional Dentistry Scholarship, sponsored by The Nationals Senator  for NSW John Williams, is now accepting applications for 2010.

Senator Williams has committed $4,800 in the first year and will offer the scholarship for a new commencing student each year thereafter during his current Senate term.

COPENHAGEN FIASCO SURPRISES NO ONE

The debacle that has occurred at the climate conference in Copenhagen justifies the voting down of the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme earlier this month.

The Nationals Senator for New South Wales John Williams said he shudders every time he thinks what might have been if the Prime Minister had got his way and taken the Emissions Trading Scheme to the conference.

LIQUIDATOR BAN JUSTIFIES INQUIRY INTO THE INDUSTRY

   A two year ban handed to a Sydney liquidator is proof the industry is not without its faults, according to the Nationals Senator for New South Wales John Williams.

Senator Williams has instigated a Senate inquiry into the role of liquidators and administrators, their fees and their practices, and the involvement and activities of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, prior to and following the collapse of a business.
